Spring Clean Up!
Please join us this Saturday, June 13. Come with a rake and garden gloves if you have them, and stay as long as you can between 9.00 am to 12.00 pm, while we do a spring clean-up of the churchyard. Bring a rake if you have one and garden gloves. A nice sociable way to get your steps in! |

Restoration ReportOut with the old.... And up with the new! As the restoration project picks up steam, the old rotted wood has started to come down, and the beautifully milled new wood is being primed, painted and prepared for installation on the side walls of the church. Some surprises have been revealed as the old clapboards are removed, so the new siding will be an improvement to the old in many ways. We can now begin to envision just how beautiful the finished project will look! At this stage in the project, building materials and some of the older debris that has been removed, is being stored in the circular driveway that goes behind the church, so this may be closed off temporarily and intermittently. We appreciate your patience as the project moves through this phase of the restoration process. Watch the crew at work HERE

Upcoming Education TalkWater Hold the date! Our education committee is sponsoring a community talk on 'Water' with Zoe Cilliers of the CRD. Friday, June 26, 1.30 - 3.00 pm. There is a sign-up sheet at the back of the church – there is no charge, but we do need to know how many to set up for. Also, please visit our Facebook page and “like” or “comment” on this event – that will get the word out faster than road signs! |

Big Doug Saved!
Look up, look wa-ay up! Good news! We have had a qualified arborist assess our grand old Douglas Fir tree located at the southeast corner of the church, and, although it has had some wind damage, it is healthy. All it needs is a bit of professional pruning. In particular, 2 large lower branches which abut the church will be cut back to the trunk; deadwood and previously failed branches and hangers will be removed; and oversized lower branches extending over the cemetery will be pruned back to “suitable live laterals.” Cost? Just over $1,000. |

Sunday Services at St Michael and All Angels
Our Sunday 8:30am service is shaped by the 1962 Book of Common Prayer. The lilt and rhythm of old English finds its way into this liturgy, and some beautiful turns of phrase illuminate this service where there is no music. While the service itself is quiet, regular attendees are lively, friendly and very welcoming. Our Sunday 10:30am service, shaped by the Book of Alternative Services, includes music and more contemporary language and images for understanding God. This service is normally recorded and available for view on Sunday afternoon on the website.
