This Sunday, March 1 after the 8.30 service, and after the 10.30 service during the coffee hour, Angela will begin taking pictures for our new photo directory. This is not only useful for parishioners, but it will be a welcome tool as our new rector attaches names to faces. Angela is encouraging everyone to have new pictures taken, even though she does have copies of the ones taken a couple of years ago. Even if you are satisfied with previous photos, please take the opportunity to update or verify contact information for administrative use. Paula Skippon or Lonnie Palmer will be in attendance for this purpose. Here are the dates and times for the photo-taking. No appointment is needed.

Saturday March 7, 11.00 am to 2.00 pm

Sunday March 8, and Sunday March 22, after both of the services

A huge thank you to Angela for shouldering this task once again!

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful AGM- from preliminary preparation of reports, to creating  the 'year in review' slide show, to setting up the Parish Hall before, or cleaning up afterwards, to contributing baked goods, coffee and tea... and to everyone who came to make their voices heard and their votes count in the continuing growth and devolpment of our church and parish community. We have an exciting year ahead!

If you didn't have the opportunity to attend yesterday evening's Lenten Service, we warmly invite you to come next week and every Wednesday from 4.30-5.00 pm to rest  in the quiet, to deepen your Lenten experience . All are welcome.

We will be using the the Liturgy Pray Without Ceasing, and everyone is warmly invited.

The collections of records held in the archives, such as parish reports, architectural records, journals, photographs and Diocesan Post newspapers, contribute to the religious and social history of Vancouver Island. While the repository for the archives was only established in 1980, the oldest materials date back to the 1830s from the Hudson’s Bay Company settlement at Fort Vancouver on the Columbia River.

If this type of work interests you, the diocesan archives is seeking a volunteer who is available for a couple hours per week on Tuesdays or Wednesdays to work on tasks such as data entry and inventorying records. Basic computer skills and an interest in history are required! Contact Justine by email at archives@bc.anglican.ca for more information.

Our Sunday 8:30am service is shaped by the 1962 Book of Common Prayer. The lilt and rhythm of old English finds its way into this liturgy, and some beautiful turns of phrase illuminate this service where there is no music. While the service itself is quiet, regular attendees are lively, friendly and very welcoming.

Our Sunday 10:30am service, shaped by the Book of Alternative Services, includes music and more contemporary language and images for understanding God. This service is normally recorded and available for view on Sunday afternoon on the website.

During Lent, the days that the Office is open will shift to Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Closed on Wednesdays Feb 18, 25, Mar 4, 11, 18, & 25. Hours will remain the same. 

The regular office schedule will resume Tuesday March 31st.
