Music StoriesShare yours in the next Messenger The "Messenger" is an occasional publication by the parish for the parish. The next issue is being planned for release by the New Year, but we can't do that without your input! Our theme this time is "Music". Whether or not you are musical, like or dislike some forms of it, or participate or merely listen, you may well have an experience that you'd like to share with others -- what music has meant to you and/or yours, your reactions to it, even your abhorrence of it. Music may also be intertwined with recipes, pictures, photos, drawings, adventures, etc. Do please send us your stories - to Elizabeth (r.elizabeth.griffin@gmail.com) or Helen (Helen_Love@stmikevictoria.ca), no later than December 21. |

Christmas Help Program 2025Yukon and Arctic Each Christmas we support clergy spouses in the Yukon and Arctic who have no employment income. St. Michaels is proud to have been supporting this program for decades. This year, Peter Goddard hopes that we can collect $5,000, so that we can send a gift of $250 to each of 18 such spouses. These gifts are so gratefully accepted each year. When you make your gift, please provide your envelope number or address so that we can provide you a receipt. Thank you for your continuing support! |

Old Music for the New YearConcert at the Cathedral January 1st This concert will offer a vibrant journey through seasonal sounds of the Spanish Baroque with its flourishing offshoots in the cathedrals and courts of the New World. This program reveals the rhythmic vitality, poetic immediacy, and expressive color that defined Iberian and Latin American music from the late 17th to the early 18th centuries. Start your new year by discovering a world where dance, drama, and devotion coexist – music that is both deeply rooted in tradition as well as vibrantly alive. Sunday Services at St Michael and All Angels
Our Sunday 8:30am service is shaped by the 1962 Book of Common Prayer. The lilt and rhythm of old English finds its way into this liturgy, and some beautiful turns of phrase illuminate this service where there is no music. While the service itself is quiet, regular attendees are lively, friendly and very welcoming. Our Sunday 10:30am service, shaped by the Book of Alternative Services, includes music and more contemporary language and images for understanding God. This service is normally recorded and available for view on Sunday afternoon on the website.
