On Saturday, October 3, we will hold a special Blessing of the Animals service. This tradition honours St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, whose feast day falls on October 4. It celebrates the joy and comfort animals bring to human lives, the work they do to sustain our common life, and emphasizes humanity's duty to care for God's creation.
Animals should be leashed or crated, and under the control of their handlers at all times.
If you have larger animals, such as horses, cows, pigs or goats that may be too big to transport, you can simply bring a photo of your beloved fur family member, to be blessed.
